sudo hidd --connect XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XXcommand while holding down the connect button on the bottom. I didn't even have to restart X. It recharges over USB and can still be used while being charged. My laptop has Bluetooth built in, so it's a very neat solution requiring no cables or dongles (except when charging).
