We played our second game of indoor netball at Kaleen last night. You play with the same number of people but the courts are significantly smaller than normal courts and are covered with nets (ie. no out of bounds). Normal netball court size is 30.5x15.25m but the indoor courts are 28.5x12m making them about 35% smaller in area and you really notice this. There seems to be people everywhere.
Due to the nets and only a 1 minute break between quarters, the game happens very quickly. It's difficult to get a drink between quarters as everyone has to file out the only hole in the nets and you only have 1 minute to get out and back in again.
The other weird thing is the soccer games on the other courts. It takes a while to adjust to seeing a game where hands aren't allowed to where feet aren't allowed.
We got are asses kicked last night. One of the umpires was a trainee who, amongst other mistakes, didn't call an obvious replay (GS went for a shot, air-balled and caught it again). Anyway, it's still pretty good fun.

Ben pointed this out A Cool and Logical Analysis of the Bicycle Menace. A good quote:
Bicycles are good exercise
..... Mankind has invested more than four million years of evolution in the attempt to avoid physical exertion. Now a group of backward-thinking atavists mounted on foot-powered pairs of Hula-Hoops would have us pumping our legs, gritting our teeth, and searing our lungs as though we were being chased across the Pleistocene savanna by saber-toothed tigers.....
